Flat on the second and last floor of an ancient building, recently modernized and elegantly furnished, situated in the historical centre of the city, on a main street, i develops on two levels, with balconies on three sides.
On the firs level is the entrance, a fully equipped kitchen, the living room with a sofa bed, the bathroom with a shower, and a big bedroom with a double bed.
All the rooms are equipped with a heating-cooling system, and theirs balconies allow an absolute panoramic view by opening to three sides.
You can easily reach on foot the most important monuments: S. George’s cathedral (main photo), S. Peter’s cathedral, The Church of S. Mary of Bethlemme, SS. Rosario’s church, the churches of Carmine, Madonna delle Grazie, SS. Salvatore, S. Niccolò, the “Corso principale “(main street in Modica), The Town hall, the ethnographical museum, the archaeological museum, “ Garibaldi” Theatre, the Jewish district with a panoramic view of the city, the chocolate laboratories.
The flat, situated in the historical centre of the beautiful baroque city, UNESCO heritage, southern capital of chocolate, is surrounded by bars, restaurants and pizzeria of any kind, where you can taste traditional food and desserts, and little souvenir and local products shops.
It is possible to make excursions at few kilometres in the Iblei touristic area, with public and private means of transport, like Ragusa Ibla, Scicli and Santa Croce Camerina, (locations for the famous tv serials “Il Commissario Montalbano”), the Castle of Donnafugata (location for the film “il Gattopardo” by L. Visconti), but also Noto and Siracusa, in the heart of the most magnificent baroque in Sicily.
From 27/3 to 23/10, on the old railway Ragusa-Siracusa route, it is possible to experience the slow travel with the “baroque train”, to discover the monument treasures of the two provinces.
The sea, with two wonderful sandy beaches, only few kilometres away, is the important element to complete a wonderful holiday in famous seaside resorts, like Marina di Ragusa, Marina di Modica, Pozzallo, Marzamemi e Capo passero.
